Forklift Masts Gilbert - Gilbert is a township located in Maricopa County, within Arizona State. The community is within the Phoenix metropolitan area and is located just southeast of Phoenix. The city of Gilbert encompasses approximately 76 square miles or 197 km2. It has made the fast transformation in recent years from being a community based on agriculture to an economically diverse suburban center.

Over the past 2 decades, the city of Gilbert has increased its population at a very high rate. The city has expanded from 5,717 people in 1980 to 208,453 as of the year 2010. The community has become a very educated and very affluent area supporting high-wage jobs in life science and health services, high technology and clean and renewable energy. The city was established during 1902, thanks to land provided by William "Bobby" Gilbert. He gave land to the Arizona Eastern Railway, allowing them to build a rail line between the city of Florence and the city of Phoenix. In the year 1912, due to the actions of Pancho Villa's forces, many Mormans who had fled the Morman colonies within Mexico opted to settle within the city of Gilbert. During 1915, they started holding church meetings at the Gilbert Elementary School and by 1918 they had organized themselves to become the Gilbert Ward.

Throughout much of the early 20th century, the city of Gilbert was known as the "Hay Capital of the World". The city's economy has continued to depend on agriculture in recent years. On par with the population growth within the town, Gilbert has rapidly transitioned to its current status as being a modern suburb in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

The city of Gilbert hosts the yearly "Gilbert Days" celebration each year during late November. This festival spans 3 days that observes the paving of Gilbert Road. Other well-known events in the city include the Raparian Institute, the Hale Centre Theatre, Cave Creek, Deer Valley Rock Art Centre, Freestone Park, the Gilbert Historical Museum and the Heritage District.

The city of Gilbert boast a variety of recreational facilities, with 2 community centers, 14 parks and 2 municipal swimming pools. One of the parks has been dedicated as a skateboard park.
