 Forklift Masts Bellevue - Bellevue City, Washington is located within the state's King County. It's located right across Lake Washington from the city of Seattle and for numerous years was considered a suburb or satellite city of Seattle. Today, it is recognized and categorized as an edge city or "boomburb." The 2010 census recorded the population to be 122,363.
The downtown core of Bellevue has been going through fast growth and change and is presently the 2nd biggest city center within Washington State. There are more than 35,000 workers and approximately 5000 inhabitants within the area. The city of Bellevue is the 6th richest among 522 communities within the state of Washington based on per capita income.
Initially settled in the latter part of the 1860s and the early part of the 1870s, the city of Bellevue quickly became a popular location for inhabitants of nearby Seattle to enjoy their summer homes. The original towering evergreens in the area eventually were removed to make way for agriculture. For the first half of the 20th century, the city of Bellevue was recognized for its abundance of blueberry and strawberry farms. During the year 1940, the very first floating bridge across Lake Washington was completed and immediately, Seattle became a suburban and much more accessible location. As the people flocked to the community, the entire region underwent much growth that continued for some decades as more families and businesses ushered in. During the year 1953, Bellevue was incorporated as a city.
Bellevue City flourished with its direct highway access through Interstate 90 and State Route 520 into downtown Seattle. Additionally, the city is in immediate nearness to Redmond that is home for Microsoft. Presently, the city is home to many head offices of several small and big businesses, a good portion of which are companies which started during the 1990s. There are several flourishing commercial districts in the region including 3 major shopping centers aside from Bellevue Square. These shopping places are: Overlake Shopping District within the North, Factoria Mall located in the south and Crossroads Mall to the East.
The city of Bellevue has held ever since 1947, the yearly Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair, which operates at the end of July. This fair is able to attract thousands of tourists to the region each and every year. Moreover, the city of Bellevue also holds a yearly Strawberry Festival in order to pay homage and celebrate its history of strawberry farming.
There is a biennial Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition held every year which attracts thousands of visitors to the Downtown Park to view as much as 46 three-dimensional art creations from artists from around the country. There is also the annual Bellevue 24-Hour Relay which happens within the Downtown Park every July.
Bellevue offers numerous places of interest which are located in a short driving distance. For example, in the downtown area there is The Bellevue Arts Museum. This is considered to be the Pacific Northwest's main center for the exploration of arts, crafts and design. There is a special emphasis placed on the work of local artists.
The KidsQuest Children's Museum is another gem within the city of Bellevue where children can interact with educational displays, exhibits and play areas. There are different discovery areas and classroom space available for large school groups. Another excellent site to visit is the Bellevue Botanical Garden. This massive wonderland comprises 53 acres showcasing meadows, wetlands, display gardens and woodlands. Throughout the month of December, the Garden hosts the yearly Garden d'Lights Festival. Scores of families come to be able to enjoy the three-dimensional sculptures of animals and plants which are made from bundled Christmas lights depicting nature-themed scenes.
