A key manufacturing plant of concrete is located in the city of Naperville. Research facilities owned by Fermilab, Amoco and Argonne National Laboratory are situated in the region. The city of Naperville has numerous car dealerships. The city boasts a large, $1.5 million, public-private car test track.

Situated within the city of Naperville are various great shopping locations: Springbrook Prairie Pavillion, downtown Naperville, Freedom Commons and the Route 59 and Ogden Avenue corridors.

The city of Naperville has a busy calendar of events. A popular event is the yearly Ribfest, an outdoor food fest that kicks off prior to Independence Day. The Last Fling carnival is held Labor Day weekend. Weekly summer concerts are held within Naperville's Central Park. Naperville also hosts conventional festivities on Memorial Day, Labor Day and St. Patrick's Day.
