 Forklift Masts Hollywood - The 12th biggest city within the state of Florida, Hollywood, is located within Broward County. According to the latest 2010 Census, the city of Hollywood had a population of 140,768. The city of Hollywood was established in 1925 and the region grew rapidly in the 1950s and during the 1960s. For the South Florida metropolitan area, Hollywood is a principal city and during the same 2010 census, there were 5,564,635 people calling the vicinity home.
In the start of the 1920s, Joseph Wesley Young, a visionary planner, founded the settlement. It wasn't until November 28, 1925, when Hollywood was incorporated as a town. Mr. Young wanted to provide a city for everybody; he wished to build his "Dream City in Florida." The vision incorporated all people from the humblest working class to the opulent at the top of the social ladder. In 1928, Mr. Young helped with the financing and provide the motivation to build Port Everglades. Roughly 80 percent of the Port is located within the city limits. Nowadays, the Port is among the nation's busiest.
The city provides easy access to Port Everglades. It is the 2nd busiest cruise port in the globe. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is a different super busy location. The Miami International Airport and the Port of Miami are less than 25 miles away. Two major railroads cut through the city of Hollywood, together with the Tri-County Commuter Rail and the Florida Turnpike.
Located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Hollywood is a classic Florida beach town. Ever since the 1920s, Hollywood has attracted numerous tourists. The Hollywood Beach Boardwalk is an oceanfront walkway in Hollywood Beach. This one-of-a-kind unique boardwalk stretches practically two and a half miles along the Atlantic. Travel and Leisure Magazine has named it among America's Best Beach Boardwalks. There are many eateries and cafes alongside the stretch and the brick paved setup is a haven for joggers, bicyclists and roller-bladers.
The city of Hollywood has a picturesque village feel and easy access to the ocean, which has made it a really famous destination for families. Situated on the city's walkway are various small inns, highly rated hotels and restaurants. The family dining ambiance is perfect for dads and moms who would like to relax and enjoy a meal near the sea while their kids can entertain themselves in the sand just steps away. The region certainly provides something for everyone and is a great place to visit regardless what your age.
There are 2 parks located along the boardwalk which attract kids and adults of all ages. They can play paddleball at the historic courts on Garfield Street or they could cool off in a fun dolphin play fountain. Josh's Organic Market is a super popular place. The residents rave about it. They install shop at the south end of the walkway every weekend. This outdoor market blends a variety of delicious fresh drinks and tropical smoothies from their seaside stand.
The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is situated on the northern border of the city of Hollywood. This airport is considered to be amongst the fastest growing airports in the USA. Within Hollywood City, Port Everglades is conveniently situated. It is among South Florida's strongest economic engines because it generates over $10.6 billion in waterborne revenue on an annual basis. The area has over 15 linear miles of commercial corridors targeted for redevelopment and business opportunities.
