 Forklift Masts Coral Springs - On the 10th of July, the year 1963, the city of Coral Springs was officially chartered. It is a city located within Broward County, within the state of Florida USA. Coral Springs is situated about 20 miles or 32 km northwest of Fort Lauderdale. Based on the Census of 2010 the population of the city of Coral Springs was 121,096. The city of Coral Springs is a part of the Pompano-Miami-Fort Lauderdale Metropolitan Statistical Area that in 2010 had 5,564,635 inhabitants in it.
WCI Communities primarily master-planned and developed the city of Coral Springs. At the time, it was then referred to as Coral Ridge Properties and was a division of Westinghouse. The city's name is taken from the company's name. It was selected after various proposals had been considered and rejected. Though the name implies it, there are no springs within the city. The actual Florida springs are situated in the central and northern areas of the state.
The Coral Springs City experienced fast growth in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. With every new decade, the Coral Springs expanded by over 35,000 inhabitants. Coral Springs' environment is somewhat distinctive amongst the cities within South Florida. Some of this is because of the fact that there are strict codes designed to maintain the aesthetic appeal. Coral Springs has won awards for its low crime rate, family friendly orientation and overall livability. Moreover, the government of the city of Coral Springs has maintained high bond ratings because of their effective fiscal management.
There are more than 50 regional and community parks in the city of Coral Springs utilized for both recreation and leisure. A lot of the park facilities offer a wide range of sports and recreational complexes including baseball, basketball, soccer, aquatics, football, golf, horseshoes, volleyball, tennis, lacrosse, softball and bocce ball.
Out of the people within the age group of 16 years and older, 72.6% were in the workforce, 5 percent were out of a job and 95 percent were working. Around 32.9% were in office and sales occupations, around 39.5% worked in professional and management occupations, 12.8% in service occupations and 7.6% were in extraction, construction and maintenance jobs. There were 7% working in production, material moving and transportation industries. There were 0.1% of individuals working in the farming, fishing and forestry sectors.
Some of the main businesses in Coral Springs comprised educational at 17.6%, health and social services at 16.1%, retail trade 12.9%, the management, scientific, waste management, professional services and administrative industries were at 10.1%. Finance, real estate, insurance and leasing and rental industries accounted for 8.2%. The entertainment, arts, recreation, accommodation and food services came in at 7.0%, manufacturing measured 6.6%, construction was 5 %, wholesale trade came in at 4 percent and warehousing, transportation and utilities came in at 4.9%. The umbrella of other services measured at 4.9%, information came in at 3.7%. Public administration was 3.6%, forestry, fishing, agriculture and hunting was 0.2%.
About 85.2% of staff were in the private sector. There was 9.6% in government, 5% were in self-employed and unincorporated businesses and 0.3% as unpaid family workers.
The main commuting method within Coral Springs was driving alone in one's own vehicle and this accounted for 81.5% of commuting trips. Next was 11.2% of individuals who carpooled regularly and approximately 7.4% of the population either used other methods of transportation or worked from home.
