Forklift Masts Simi Valley - Located in Southeast Ventura County approximately 27 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, the city of Simi Valley has roughly 130,000 residents, making it the third largest in the Ventura County. It was incorporated in the year 1969 and has a total area of forty two square miles.

It is assumed that the cities name first originated from the Chumash Indian Village Himeji. At first, the city was separated into two cities: Tapo and Simi. The Indians who settled in the city were really clever. They utilized the acorns from the Coast Live Oak (the cities official tree) and the rosehips from the California Wild Rose (the cities official flower) to help supplement their diet.

In the year 1795, amongst the biggest land grants in history was made to Simi Valley City. Land totaling roughly 100 000 acres was granted to Santiago Pico and Luis Pena by Governor Diego de Borica of Spanish California. The area was referred to as El Rancho San Jose de Garcia de Simi.

In Simi Valley, there are two main industries situated on opposite sides of the city. Situated within the east is the machinery and tools industry, that comprises a total of 69 companies. The metal industry is in the west and has a total of 51 companies. various trades that are littered throughout the cities industrial sectors are Apparel/Textiles, Food, Lumber/Wood, Plastic Materials, and Minerals.

The largest division of the Bank of America, (Formally the Countrywide Home Loans) has been headquartered in the Simi Valley, ever since the mid 1990's. This Company has three main office buildings in the city. One is located within a building just off Madera Road, that was once home to Bugle Boy, an apparel company. Another is situated on Tapo Canyon, and the third is located on First Street.

In the year 2006, The Volkswagen of America Design centre moved from Simi Valley to Santa Monica. During its run in Simi Valley, the business hired several automotive designers who are now international known for their skillfulness. Jay Mays (presently VP Design for Ford and Freeman Thomas) and Thomas (who helped co design the original Audi TT) used to call Simi Valley home. The space has since been developed into an industrial complex.
