Forklift Masts San Bernardino - San Bernardino is a city well-known for its beautiful scenery and ethnic diversity. The combination of influences from emigrants, ranging from Spanish Missionaries to native Americans, has created a city which is culturally diverse and interesting. The city was named by Father Dumetz, a Franciscan missionary, in the year 1810. The city itself is situated south of the San Bernardino Mountains and west of the lower desert. It is presently the county seat of San Bernardino County and hosts a population of over 205,000.

The economy is dominated by the government, retail, and services businesses. All together, there are over 97,000 kinds of work provided within San Bernardino, with roughly 20,000 offered by the government, Sixteen thousand offered by retail, and thirteen thousand offered in education.

Located at the intersection of the I-10, I-215, and SR-210 freeways, San Bernardino city has a strategic location. The region is also near the San Gorgonio and Cajon passes. Within the city lies the Santa Fe and Burlington Northern Railway's Intermodal fright transport yard, as well as the Yellow Freight System and Pacific Motor Trucking's cross-docking trucking center. There are several warehouses situated near the San Bernardino International Airport for large corporations, like for instance Kohl's and Mattel.

Situated near the Santa Ana River and along Hospitality Lane is the Riverfront District. Within the city, is has been the economic development hub for the past few years. There are numerous large hotels, office buildings, restaurants and retailers which are constructed here rather than downtown.

In 1994 the Norton Air Force Base was closed, causing San Bernardino's financial system to nearly collapse. The jobless rate grew to 12% due to over 10,000 people losing their jobs and as a result some neighborhoods were emptied. The area still hasn't fully recovered and those within a mile of the centre of the city have a meager median income of $20,480.
