Forklift Masts Colorado

Forklift Masts Colorado - The US state of Colorado is located in the northeastern part of the Colorado Plateau on the western edge of the Great Plains overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The state is part of the Mountain States in the Western United States.

The state was named for the Colorado River, which early Spanish explorers named the Rio Colorado for the red colored silt the river carried from the mountains. On August 1, 1876, U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant signed a proclamation admitting Colorado as the 38th state. The state of Colorado is called the "Centennial State" because it was admitted to the Union as the 38th state in 1876, the centennial year of the United States Declaration of Independence.

Colorado State is bordered by the northwest state of Wyoming towards the north, the Midwest states of Kansas and Nebraska to the northeast and east, on the south by New Mexico and a small section of the southern state of Oklahoma, and on the west by Utah. The four states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at one common point called the Four Corners, which is known as the heart of the American Southwest. Colorado is amongst only three U.S. states with no natural borders, the others being neighboring Utah and Wyoming.

The state of Colorado is known for its vivid landscape of forests, mountains, high plains, mesas, plateaus, canyons, rivers, and desert lands. As per the United States Census in the year 2010, the population is just over 5,000,000. There was an increase of 16.92% since the 2000 United States Census. Denver is the capital and the most heavily populated city of Colorado. Inhabitants of Colorado are called "Coloradans", though the archaic term "Coloradoan" is still used.

During 2010, production in Colorado State totaled $257.6 billion, as per the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Colorado State ranks 11th in the country, with a per capita personal income during 2010 at $51,940. The economy of Colorado broadened from its mid-19th century roots in mining when irrigated agriculture developed, and by the late 19th century, raising livestock had become important. Early business was based on the extraction and processing of minerals and agricultural products. Present agricultural products are wheat, cattle, hay, dairy products and corn.

The state has large amounts of hydrocarbon resources. The state of Colorado hosts seven of the country's 100 largest natural gas fields and two of its 100 largest oil fields, based on the Energy Information Administration. Unconventional and conventional natural gas output from several Colorado basins typically account for more than half of annual U.S. natural gas production. Colorado's oil shale deposits hold a projected 1 trillion barrels (160 km3) of oil - almost as much oil as the whole world's proven oil reserves; the economic viability of the oil shale, on the other hand, has not been demonstrated.

The ridges and eastern plains of Colorado's high Rocky Mountain provides wind power, while there is a potential for geothermal power development because the mountain areas provide much geologic activity. Most parts of Colorado are sunny and able to produce solar power. Major rivers flowing from the Rocky Mountains provide hydroelectric power resources. Corn grown in the flat eastern region of Colorado offers potential resources for production of Ethanol.
