Forklift Masts Renton - Renton is a city within King County, in the state of Washington. Situated in an area referred to as the Eastside, 21 km southeast of the city of Seattle, Renton is a manufacturing center with a population of 90,927 inhabitants. The city of Renton lies along the southeast coast of Lake Washington. The city of Renton is the 9th biggest metropolis in Washington State and 4th most populous metropolis within King County.

Founded during the 1860s, Renton was incorporated as a city in the year 1901. Coal was discovered here by Erasmus M. Smithers during the 1800s. Timber and coal resources were plentiful, and both mining and timber processing became the key economic industries in the region. The city was a supply center for the Newcastle coal fields. Renton's proximity to the Black and Cedar Rivers made the city susceptible to floods until the building of the Lake Washington Ship Canal during the year 1916 lowered Lake Washington's level several feet. The Cedar River was diverted to Lake Washington and eliminated the drainage through the Black River.

Renton ranks 100th of 522 areas in the state of Washington according to per capita income. The city of Renton has numerous technology companies like for instance Boeing, Paccar, and several dot-com businesses. IKEA moved to Renton during 1994 and in 2007 a branch of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) established itself here. During the year 2008, a new Federal Reserve Bank branch moved to the city of Renton.

The city is busy with many major retail and residential developments. The city of Renton has undergone some revitalization projects. Amongst the most significant is the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (or also referred to as VMAC), housing the Seattle Seahawks Headquarters and training facility, completed during 2008. This is the second largest NFL facility. Situated in north Renton, the Center has an area of 19,000 m2.
