 Forklift Masts Nebraska - The US state of Nebraska is located within the Midwestern Region of the nation on the Great Plains. The biggest city in the state is Omaha, whereas the capital city is Lincoln. The area which is now part Nebraska was once part of the Great American Desert, is currently a leading state in the sectors of farming and ranching. The Omaha and Ho-Chunk or Winnebago are federally recognized American Indian tribes, each with a reservation within Thurston County within eastern Nebraska, where they constitute the majority of population.
Bordering the state of Nebraska is South Dakota towards the north; Iowa to the east and Missouri to the southeast, whilst across the Missouri River; the state of Kansas lies to the south; Colorado sits towards the southeast; and Wyoming to the west. There are 93 counties in Nebraska. Nebraska is split into two time zones. The Central Time zone comprises the eastern half of Nebraska, while the western half observes Mountain Time. Three rivers cross the state of Nebraska from west to east. The Platte River, formed by the confluence of the South Platte and the North Platte, runs through the central region of the state of Nebraska, the Niobrara River flows through the northern part, and the Republican River runs across the southern region.
In the year 2010, the estimated gross state product of Nebraska done by the Bureau of Economic Analysis was about $89.8 billion. Ranking 25th in the United States, the 2004 per capita income was around $31,339. The state of Nebraska has a big agriculture sector, and is an essential producer of pork, beef, soybeans and corn. Other significant economic sectors comprise freight transport, by rail and truck; manufacturing; telecommunications; information technology; and insurance.
Kool-Aid was created in the year 1927 by Edwin Perkins within the city of Hastings, which celebrates the event the second weekend of each and every August with Kool-Aid Days. Omaha is the home to Mutual of Omaha, ConAgra, TD Ameritrade, InfoUSA, Valmont Industries, West Corporation, Kiewit Corporation, the Union Pacific Railroad and Woodmen of the World. UNIFI Companies, Sandhills Publishing Company, and Duncan Aviation are based within Lincoln; The Buckle is based in Kearney. Sidney is the national headquarters for Cabela's, a specialty retailer of outdoor goods.
The world's biggest train yard, Union Pacific's Bailey Yard, is in North Platte. The Vise-Grip was invented by William Petersen during 1924, and was manufactured in De Witt until the plant was closed and moved to China in late 2008. Lincoln's Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing is the only Kawasaki plant within the globe to produce the Jet-Ski, ATV, and Mule lines of product. The facility employs over 1200 people. The Spade Ranch, within the Sand Hills, is one of Nebraska's largest and oldest beef cattle operations.
